From Cairns make your way south to the vibrant streets of Sydney with Top Deck, swapping island sailing and beaches with cattle stations and the Outback along the way!
**Day 1: Cairns**
Just like a double-shot macchiato in the morning, two days in Cairns will get your heart started. Meet and greet the crew in the afternoon and start planning tomorrow’s adventures. (D)
**Day 2: Cairns**
Like the thought of spending a whole day exploring the only place in the world nestled between two World Heritage areas? Go on then. Ramp up the adventure with hot air ballooning, horse riding, bungee jumping, rafting and all those things on your tick list. Save time for a snorkelling or scuba trip to the Great Barrier Reef and take home that elusive selfie with a photobombing fish. (B). Pre-book your Great Barrier Reef day-trip at the time of booking to secure your spot.
**Day 3: Cairns to Magnetic Island**
A private tour of the local wildlife park where you can kiss a baby Crocodile, smooch a Blue Tongue Lizard, and even cuddle a Koala*, is included into our morning before we leave the island. We’ll pass palm tree lined streets this afternoon as we make our way into Cairns, nestled between the Coral Sea and the Great Dividing Range. (B)
**Day 4: Magnetic Island to Airlie Beach**
Leaving the Whitsundays for Magnetic Island and you have the afternoon to trip around this amazing piece of paradise. Discover secluded beaches, National Park walking trails or just laze by the pool with a cocktail. (B,D)
**Day 5: Airlie Beach**
Keep those sunglasses on as the blinding white sands of Whitehaven stretch before you like a 7km sea of diamonds and swim with the resident Maori Wrasse at Blue Pearl Bay. Back on board, keep adrift of your seafaring skills by helping to set the sails or steer at the helm as we set course for land. Later this afternoon set course for our return to land where we’ll spend the night in Airlie Beach, pool – shower – dinner – dancing all in that order! (B,L)
**Day 6: Airlie Beach to Emu Park**
***We ask that you have packed a small overnight bag to take onboard with you as space on the overnight sailing is limited. Pack items like swimmers, beach towel, chargers, hat, sunscreen, camera, jacket, toiletries, sandals/flip flops and casual clothes for 3 days.***
Feeling like you need more air in your hair? Leave the bus and board your own private yacht for our overnight (2 day, one night) sailing trip in the beautiful Whitsunday Islands. Normally a toy for the rich and famous, today it’s all yours to learn the ropes while sailing in paradise. More of a land-lover? Take the diva option and let the crew do the work whilst you feast, swim and snorkel. (B,D)
**Day 7: Emu Park to Myella Farm**
Sand and salt got your goat? Trade the beach for the bush and enjoy an authentic outback experience at a 2,500-acre cattle station. Now’s your chance to bust out the sayings like “strewth mate” and “bewdy sheila”. Take to the life of a cowboy like a horse to oats with an adventure-packed afternoon of horse riding or motor biking. Or get your boots dirty, milk your first cow, or go walkabout on a real Aussie farm to find that right spot for the perfect outback sunset. Enjoy a hearty home cooked farm style dinner before you take to whip cracking and lassoing. (B, L, D)
**Day 8: Myella Farm to Fraser Island**
Wake up and smell the coffee. Kick off your day with a farm breakfast before burning down the highway to catch a ferry bound for the world’s largest sand island, with the longest beach in Oz – all 75 Miles (120kms) of it. (B,D)
**Day 9: Fraser Island**
Fraser is literally one huge pile of sand – as if someone dropped the Sahara Desert into the Pacific Ocean and scattered it with dingoes and rainforests. Four-wheel-drive along the beach highway of 75-mile Beach to mingle with the Pinnacles Coloured Sands, Eli Creek and Maheno Shipwreck before testing out your SUP skills on the crystal clear waters of Lake McKenzie. (B, L)
**Day 10: Fraser Island to Gold Coast**
Next stop: BrisVegas (aka Brisbane). Don’t let its namesake fool you – there are no late-night wedding chapels in the sunshine state capital. Get your city centre fix on before burning down the highway to a piece of man-made awesome perched on the edge of golden sandy beaches, aka Surfers Paradise. Welcome to the GC. (B)
**Day 11: Gold Coast to Byron Bay**
Leave the Gold Coast glitz behind you as we head to Springbrook National Park and its major draw card, Natural Bridge. Next, swap the national park for surf vibes in Byron – where you can burn incense, sip chai, become a yoga teacher and win cash for being a Cheeky Monkey all in one day. (B)
**Day 12: Byron Bay**
Anti-Maccas and anti-anything mass-produced (but pro juice bars, beer gardens and beards), Byron is glitzy on the outside but small town-hearted underneath.
Hit the shops, paddle a sea kayak, or watch whales breach from the Lighthouse in winter. This is the town where peace and tranquillity go to relax. You should too. Or jump out of a plane. Byron doesn’t care as long as you’re happy. (B)
**Day 13: Byron Bay to Crescent Head**
Let the wave chasing begin as we cruise down the coast to the surfing cloud nine of Crescent Head. Grab some BBQ lunch before we hit the beach for a private surf lesson on one of the best right-handers in the world. Here’s your chance to become a bona fide shredder. Kelly Slater, who? (B, L, D)
**Day 14: Crescent Head to Sydney**
Try a barrel of a different kind and dip your toes into an oak barrel (literally) in the Hunter Valley today. Swill some vino and taste some of the best grapes in the country before we roll onto the beachside hustle and bustle of Sydney. (B)

Sam made planning our trip up the East Coast worry and hassle free. He had so much knowledge, tips and tricks! I don’t think he knows what 4 stars even
looks like he’s that good.
This guy sorted us out for all the trips that we wanted (Fraser Island, Whitsunday Islands, Great Barrier Reef), made it so easy and straightforward. Such a laid back and chilled guy, so it’s all on you what you wana do. We had the best time on the east coast and I’m positive he was a reason why it turned out to be amazing.
Check out his new business, help a fellow Brit out and see what you think, won’t be disappointed. (You get a pretty solid free t-shirt which is really why we went to Sam’s RatPack Travel!)
If it wasn’t for Sam and the RatPack team then I’d of been at a loss with planning out my east coast trip of Australia. Even though I’d booked my bus ticket
and most of my trips back in the UK before I flew out, they helped me plan out my entire trip and plotted it all down on a day by day calendar. They
gave me lots of advice and tips about each location and how long to stay and sorted me right out.
I booked my sky dive at Mission Beach and my Cape Tribulation tour with RatPack and both were fantastic, especially my sky dive!
Sam and his team couldn’t of been more helpful and made everything super easy and straightforward for me – thanks again guys!Show Less
We booked our Fraser Island tour and our Whitsundays tour with Sam from Ratpack. Sam took a lot of time (even after the shop would have been closed) to
find the perfect trip for us. We were very happy with the Cool Dingo Fraser and the Ocean Rafting Whitsundays tour. Thank you very much!
