Tour Intro:

Hit up Kakadu from Darwin with these dudes at Territory Expeditions to make the most of your time here. This National Parks is unbelievable and flights to get to Darwin can be ULTRA cheap so what you waiting for! If you want to get a real sense of adventure and get into that jurassic park vibe this tour with the legends from Territory Expeditions is for you!

This tour takes place from May to Oct... and on this tour you’ll be experiencing everything that Kakadu has to offer, you’ll get up close with wildlife as soon as you start the trip as you’ll be embarking on a wildlife and croc cruise on the Corroboree Billabong river {we recommend keeping your arms and legs in at all times!}. We love this tour because you will be learning alot about the local culture, you’ll visit Warradja Cultural Centre within Kakadu National Park & visit the Nourlangie Rock, an ancient Aboriginal occupational and art site. 

You’ll be experience some epic sleeping conditions on this trip, you’ll be camping out at the exclusive Mardugal Safari camp & Pine Creek where you’ll be camping in swags (tents optional) under the stars and cooking on an open campfire. Accommodation will continue to be this camping experience until the monsoons begin in early December, where you’ll then stay at a private camp where you’ll be staying in air conditioned dorm-share accommodation

All of your food is included on this tour {thats what we like - hold tight!}, and you’ll be enjoying picnic lunches at epic spots such as East Alligator River bank and Jim Jim Creek. On night two you’ll experience the REAL DEAL of an Outback Aussie BBQ - we’re talking Kangaroo, Croc & Buffalo >> all about the experience right?!

Itinerary:

Day 1

We start our Kakadu tour by heading straight for a wildlife cruise with crocodiles and bird watching. Fantastic photo opportunities.
Then we commence the drive toward Kakadu National Park.
A picnic lunch on the East Alligator rivers bank (not too close!) with the opportunity to spot some crocs and flying foxes.
Then on to the world famous Ubirr Rock in the north of the park. Ancient rock art and staggering 360º views over the Nardab floodplain.
Dinner and camping under the stars in the heart of Kakadu at our safari camp.

Day 2:

After breakfast we do some 4 Wheel driving to Twin Falls. From here we take the escarpment walk to the top of the falls for a swim in the crystal clear pools away from the crowds.
Then we’ll find a shady spot by Jim Jim Creek for some lunch.
A short climb up Budjimi Lookout will reward you with spectacular views of the ancient Arnhemland escarpment.
After lunch, a 1km walk through monsoonal vine forest to the base of Jim Jim Falls for a relaxing afternoon swimming in the plunge pool and resting on the beach.
Tonight we camp at Garnamarr, at the base of the escarpment. Tonight we replenish ourselves with the Great Aussie BBQ including a taste plate of Crocodile, Buffalo and Kangaroo.
Showers and toilets available. (B,L,D)

Day 3:

An early start as we head to the Warradjan Cultural Centre to learn more about the local Aboriginal people of Kakadu.
We then make our way to Barramundi Gorge (Maguk) for a 1km walk through towering paperbarks and crystal clear waters for a refreshing swim in the plunge pool.
Heading home after a fantastic tour along the old Jim Jim road stopping of at White Lily billabong for our last look at Kakadu and a stretch of the legs.
We return to Darwin approximately 5.30pm ending our Kakadu tour. (B,L)
