Tour Intro:

Litchfield is a huge NATIONAL Park home to beaut waterfalls, amazing treks & unbelievable look outs. WARNING - only swim where experienced guides let you, CROC o clock around these ends so swim with CAUTION! Combine Litchfield with a trip to Kakadu from Darwin with these dudes at Territory Expeditions to make the most of your time here. Both National Parks are unbelievable and flights to get to Darwin can be ULTRA cheap so what you waiting for! If you want to get a real sense of adventure and get into that jurassic park vibe this tour with the legends from Territory Expeditions is for you!

This tour takes place in the wet season {Nov - April} and on this tour you’ll be experiencing everything that Kakadu and Litchfield National Parks has to offer, you’ll get up close with wildlife as soon as you start the trip as you’ll be embarking on a wildlife and croc cruise on the Corroboree Billabong river {we recommend keeping your arms and legs in at all times!}. We love this tour because you will be learning alot about the local culture, you’ll visit Warradja Cultural Centre within Kakadu National Park & visit the Nourlangie Rock, an ancient Aboriginal occupational and art site. Explore the sites before walking up to Gunwhardewharde lookout for EPIC views over Nawurlandja.

There will be plenty of opportunities for swims and hikes on this adventure, you’ll be taken to either Gunlom Falls (when accessible) or Yurmikmik. These walks will get your heart rate up for sure, but you’ll get to enjoy a refreshing swim after. You’ll get to do some cruising around in the 4WD and you’ll be off to Ikoymarrwa Rock Holes (Moline) for another swim.The final day on this tour is all about Litchfield National Park and the falls >> first stop will be Wangi Falls for a swim in its BEAUT natural plunge pool, next is a visit Tolmer Falls with its unreal views over Litchfield National Park before heading to relax at Buley Rockhole’s & Florence falls for a cool swim >>> our kind of exploring!

You’ll be experience some epic sleeping conditions on this tour, you’ll be camping out at the exclusive Mardugal Safari camp & Pine Creek where you’ll be camping in swags (tents optional) under the stars and cooking on an open campfire. Accommodation will continue to be this camping experience until the monsoons begin in early December, where you’ll then stay at a private camp where you’ll be staying in air conditioned dorm-share accommodation

All of your food is included on this tour {thats what we like - hold tight!}, and you’ll be enjoying picnic lunches at epic spots such as East Alligator River bank and Jim Jim Creek. On night two you’ll experience the REAL DEAL of an Outback Aussie BBQ - we’re talking Kangaroo, Croc & Buffalo >> all about the experience right?!

Itinerary:

Day 1: Darwin - Kakadu *Pick up at 7am from your nominated accommodation. We start our Kakadu tour by heading towards Kakadu to join a crocodile jumping cruise. This is a great opportunity to get fantastic photo of the local wildlife. After the cruise, we commence our drive toward Kakadu National Park. Stop & enjoy a picnic lunch on the East Alligator River bank with the opportunity to spot some crocs and flying foxes!Welcome to Kakadu National Park! Arrive at Nourlangie Rock, an ancient Aboriginal occupational and art site. Explore the sites before walking up to Gunwhardewharde lookout for an exceptional view over the escarpment, including Nawurlandja. After a visit to the Warradjan Cultural Centre, we make our way to Mardugal Safari camp nestled in the heart of Kakadu. Dinner tonight is an Aussie BBQ with a taste plate of croc, buffalo and kangaroo.

Day 2 - KakaduEarly to rise for a big day and some great walks! Pack up camp and head to either Gunlom Falls (when accessible) or Yurmikmik. These walks will get your heart rate up, however you will be rewarded with a refreshing swim. Back to the 4WD and it’s off to Ikoymarrwa Rock Holes (Moline) for another swim. This is a special permit area, not available to other tour operators and is recognised for its cultural and environmental sensitivity. The days are hot and the storms are building up so it’s time to head to our camp at Pine Creek. Tonight you will enjoy the comfort of air-conditioned dorm rooms, with the option to camp if preferred!

Day 3 - Kakadu - Litchfield - DarwinUp early again to head to Litchfield National Park. First stop is Wangi Falls for a swim in its beautiful natural plunge pool. We then visit Tolmer Falls with its spectacular views over Litchfield National Park before making our way to relax at Buley Rockhole’s. Enjoy a picnic lunch and then head onto Florence falls for a cool swim. On our way back to Darwin we get the opportunity to explore giant termite mounds. Return to Darwin approximately 5.30pm
